Why do I advocate for natural cosmetics use among belly dancers?
There are so many things to focus on, the latest music, dance technique, advertising and getting gigs and let’s face it; most dancers are not loaded with cash. Natural make up products are often more expensive but because we use them more regularly than the general population, its even more important to choose wisely and avoid toxic overload. The more we support the natural brands, the more incentive we give to the industry to clean up their act. Here is a video from 2010 that covers the basics of why it’s a good idea to protect yourself.
Jade publishes natural make up reviews for home use and stage mostly on Mondays. Follow the blog so you can save money and buy what works best.

I’ve been interested in natural cosmetics for ages, and agree, it’s expensive and what’s even worse hard to find good products.. Looking forward to discovering new products!

My first foray into natural cosmetics left me under whelmed. It took years before I was willing to try again and this time I have found some products that are awesome. I am hoping to inspire dancers to change and to start substituting non toxic products into their make-up bags. We all want to look great but I don’t think we should have to poison ourselves to do it. I have done several other reviews – if you are interested click the link to make-up on the right hand side of the page under the heading “Articles”. I would love to hear of your opinions on any natural make up products you use. You must experience a lot of different products as a model.

Thank you for the tip, I’ll make sure to check out more of your articles! Unfortunately, as a model I don’t get to experience ANY of natural make up at my jobs.. that’s why I am trying to at least use it for when I need to do make up on my own but it hasn’t worked great so far.. the only natural/organic things I am using at the moment are skincare products.
