Well here are a few girls that started very young, they are amazing and worth the few minutes of your time.

I hope they inspire younger dancers !

The first is a very graceful child- I don’t know her age but from her proportions I would say under 5.

This dancer looks to be around 10 or so and is so professional on stage. I like her costume too, no big splits or faux bras, they keep it classy and elegant.

The last little dancer is not a belly dancer but a polynesian dancer. As I dance polynesian fusion too I thought I would include her as she is super adorable!

Biodegradable glitter? It’s really a thing!

I had honestly never given glitter much thought in terms of its impact on the environment. I had wondered about its safety and potential toxicity given it can stick to the skin or scalp for such long periods of time and be hard to remove; but beyond that simple pondering, glitter has simply been glitter.

Now I find out that not all glitter is created equal, there is now biodegradable glitter available called Bioglitz!

This from their website :

“REGULAR GLITTER IS PETROLEUM-BASED PLASTIC COATED IN ALUMINUM WHICH PERSISTS IN THE ENVIRONMENT FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS.

BEING SO FINE & FLEETING, THERE IS NO WAY TO RECYCLE NOR PREVENT IT FROM ENTERING WATERWAYS & DISRUPTING MARINE LIFE AS WELL AS BIRDS, INSECTS AND THE HUMAN FOOD CHAIN.

SADLY, NORMAL GLITTER IS COMPARABLE TO MICROBEADS.

WITH MILLIONS OF POUNDS OF GLITTER BEING SOLD ANNUALLY, WE CAN’T CONTINUE TO SUPPORT SUCH WASTE, SO, WE’VE DEVELOPED A NEW PLANT BASED BIODEGRADABLE GLITTER.”

I hope at some point to post a review of this product but I thought I would let my eco -minded dance buddies know there is a biodegradable, compostable, no GMO, non animal testing product to try.
