Early this year I had the honour of joining a great cast of dancers for Perth’s edition of Bellyqueens’, ‘Journey along the Silk Road’. Among the dancers was Australian belly dancer & card designer Marta. Marta (over at Marta Belly dance) has created a small line of boutique cards that are perfect to let your teacher and fellow students know you are thinking of them over the Christmas period. I don’t get any kick backs from this plug, I am simply supporting the community and lovely Marta’s efforts. 3 cards go for $15 AUD and considering how the Australian dollar is worth so much less than the English pounds or the US dollar – that makes it even cheaper if you are overseas! Anyone here ever get a last minute belly dance gig after you have been gardening or henna tattooing or painting?

I have!

I thought this was a great idea to quickly solve the issue of stained nails or slightly uneven lengths. This is a reblog from henna artist Maeve from Living Henna, an 11yr old entrepreneur that comes up with some very unique ideas. She also uses natural nail polish brands, Scotch and honeybee gardens so it totally fits into the healthy options I am promoting over here at Jade Belly dance.

I am a big Azam Ali fan! I discovered Vas, 18 years ago and fell in love with her voice. If you don’t know her work then this is someone to check out. I think I own most of her albums but she is pretty prolific and worth following so you don’t miss anything.

I know most of the music I let my readers know about is free, but this music is so epic that I had to blog about it and let you know that it is worth the money.

It is perfect for a really theatrical drama filled dance piece. I had a conversation with a friend with the music playing in the background and it made everything we said seem epic and profound. You can listen to it through apple music or free through position music where you can buy the rights to use it publicly (prices vary depending on intended use).
