Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections

The picture for today is not awesome in its quality (wish it were a bit better focussed!) but what I find interesting is that the reflection does not quite look like the subject and furthermore the shadow appears to be different again! It’s like a portrait of me, myself and I and we are all just slightly out of sync. It is not photo-shopped except that I took the window out of the reflection – the rest is as it was taken.

Belly Dancer in Mirror

Me, Myself and I

I am fascinated by reflections and have posted several of my favourite pics on that topic in previous posts like

This is a straight up photo post not my usual more informative post style because…..

Jade Belly Dance is all gearing up for the end of year concert on December 8th in Dorrigo NSW. It is sure to be a blast!

Organising the event has been taking up most of my time so posting will be a little less until next week. I just couldn’t miss this weeks photo challenge however.

Anyone else have mirror oriented belly dance photos? I would love to see them.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Green

Had to participate in this word press photo challenge! Jade is a shade of green after all.

So may I present my belly dance snap shots in green (+ a couple of photos of me by the talented Leigh Jensen and Bruce Thomas).

Green is also a notoriously difficult colour to get in belly dance costumes and is really hard to accessorise.

Blue seems to be a lot more forgiving when it comes to mixing different shades but I love green so much I just keep trying to find a great green outfit. I am pretty happy with my mostly home-made olive green bellynesian outfit and my new green and black custom made outfit from Egypt that I have yet to wear (the bra getting altered below is part of that ensemble) but my favourite green costume in terms of versatility, comfort, shade of green and price is the beaded green costume that I am wearing in the fairy garden below.

I hadn’t intended on most of the pictures being of meΒ  – but I don’t know many other people that wear green as much as I do!!

What’s your favourite coloured (colored) costume? Have you had trouble finding a look that is just right? Comment below.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Happy …. Belly Dancers

Oooh! What makes a belly dancer happy? The images I have included exclude the obvious answer of new, custom made, gorgeous costumes πŸ˜‰

I even included a picture of my sister and she will never know because she doesn’t read my blog! (laughing with delight)

For those new to this gallery format (e.g. people like me!!).Β  Just put your mouse over the images to read the captions or click on them to view ‘the bigger picture’.
